Hello I'm Suchi, the hands and heart behind Suchi Handcrafts.
Creativity has always been a part of my life. With a background in fine arts, I've explored many different mediums over the years - from drawing, painting, charcoal and printmaking to embroidery, paper crafts, knitting and crochet. I love experimenting, learning something new, and bringing an idea to life with my hands.
During COVID, while homeschooling my kids, I found myself with a little more time and a strong need to create. I started by making masks for family and friends, then moved into knitting socks and hats, followed by crochet.
But the idea for crochet greeting cards came from something very simple - a friend's 40th birthday.
I made her a crochet card and gave it to her in front of a group of friends. As she opened it, I watched everyone's faces light up. One of my friends looked at the card and said, “Suchi - You can't buy these anywhere!”
That moment stayed with me.
In fall of 2025, I started making a few crochet cards each month - first themed cards, then birthday cards and personalized designs for special occasions. And every time I give one away, I see the same thing: a smile, a little surprise, and that sparkle in someone's eyes.
Yes, these cards take time and effort. But when something made by your hands brings that much joy to someone else, it's worth every stitch.
And that's where the next idea came from.
Why not bring people together to make them?
Through my crochet card workshops, I hope to create a little community where we can learn, create, laugh, connect, and bring our own creativity to something handmade.
Because sometimes the simplest handmade things can make the biggest impression.
